Lather describes what the soap does when it becomes frothy and bubbly. You don't dilute cleanser. You put cleanser in your palms and rub hands together to create a lather- and then use that lather to cleanse. By the way, I really think you are over-thinking the whole cleansing process.
wet your hands and face first , then put the cleanser on your hands rub together gently to form a cream lather and apply to gently rubbing away dead skin cells rinse well pat dry ............
you don't need water with a face wash to lather
